  • Dr. Sarah McGill

    Dr. Sarah McGill is a gastroenterologist and professor of medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  During her training as a GI doctor and researcher at Stanford University, she never even heard once of alpha-gal syndrome.  After returning to the Southeast, she began to diagnose alpha-gal syndrome in patients with recurrent GI distress who did not exhibit other obvious allergic symptoms, a condition which she was the first to describe in the GI medical literature. Now, she is dedicated to learning about, teaching on and researching alpha-gal syndrome, particularly its GI manifestations.  

  • Dr. Paige Freeman

    Dr. Paige Freeman is a food allergy psychologist who is dedicated to advancing the understanding of the biopsychosocial impacts of managing food allergies, including Alpha-gal Syndrome, in both individuals and families.  She is an active contributor to FARE (Food Allergy Research and Education) and she serves as a Behavioral Healthcare Advisor for both the Academy of Food Allergy Counseling and the Food Allergy Counseling Directory.  Dr. Freeman is a frequent guest on food allergy podcasts and speaks at hospitals and medical conferences, where she passionately educates physicians and families about the challenges of managing food allergies. She offers telehealth services for individuals, families, and groups across 42 states to support those dealing with food allergies. 

  • Ali Moresco

    Alex Moresco, founder of Moresco Public Relations + Communications, brings a wealth of experience spanning entertainment PR, talent relations, and healthcare PR. With a background in Public Relations, Advertising, and Journalism, along with an MA in Public Relations and Advertising from DePaul University, she has worked with renowned companies such as Nike, Complex Magazine, and Facebook Watch. Moresco’s goal is always at the heart of marrying the patient's needs with client goals.

    Four years ago, her personal health journey led her to specialize in healthcare PR, leveraging her lived, firsthand experience with chronic disease and her expertise as a "professional patient" to craft effective communications strategies. Moresco has achieved notable media coverage for her clients in prestigious publications like The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, and more. With a track record of securing over 250 prominent placements in the past year, her dedication to building strong media relationships is evident.

    Alex has raised significant funds for tick-borne illness research, actively lobbied in Washington, D.C., and sits on the Executive Board for National nonprofit, Project Lyme, and the Emerging Leader Board for Nashville based cancer nonprofit, Nashville Wine Auction. Alex was named to Nashville Business Journal's 2025 "40 Under 40" list.
